Double tilt LN2 Vacuum Transfer Holder
Q:How long does it t。es about 1 to 1.5 hours.
Q: How long does the cooling last?
A:Approximately 2 hours.
Q:What is the minimum achievable temperature?
A:Approximately -170°C (at the tip)
Q:How is a vacuum maintained inside the holder during observation?
A:A vacuum is created by using the pumps of the TEM or the vacuum station, drawi ng vacuum from the opening at the tip of the holder. The dewar section is also e vacuated using the TEM or the vacuum station pumps.
Q:How long does it take for the image to stabilize after changing the temperature?
A:Approximately 1 hour
Q: How should the tip be cleaned?
A: Users can wipe the tip with a cotton swab soaked in ethanol. Alternatively, wrap Bencott or similar lint-free material around a wooden toothpick, soak it in ethano l, and carefully wipe the tip..
Q:Can the orientation of the Tilt connector be changed?
A:The connector orientation cannot be changed. Rotating it may affect the atmos
phere-isolation function.
Q:Can the position of the Tilt connector be changed?
A:The position of the connector cannot be changed. Modifying it may affect the at
mosphere-isolation function.
Q:What is the settable temperature range of the holder?
A:The temperature range is from about -110°C to achievable temperatures (about -
170°C).
Q:Is it possible to perform measurements at around -50°C?
A:Technically it is possible, but liquid nitrogen tends to boil vigorously at this tem
perature, making heat transfer and vibration unstable. Therefore, it is not suitab
le as a measurement environment.
Q:What is the recommended tightening torque for the specimen retainer screw?
A:1 c·Nm (centi-Newton meter).
Q:Are there any shortcut keys for the double tilt software?
A:No, there are none by default. However, users can configure their own custom s
hortcuts.
Q: How should the holder be stored when it is not in use?
A: Please store the holder in a vacuum chamber under vacuum. If left in the atmosphere, moisture can condense inside the holder, which may lead to ice contamination and longer pre-evacuation times.
Q: What is the depth of the 3 mm diameter circle at the sample mounting position?
A: The depth is 100 µm.
Q: What kind of structure is used to keep the piping connected to the dewar under vacuum?
A: The structure is designed so that the vacuum is drawn continuously from the tip of the holder to the dewar through a small gap located between the frame at the holder tip and the resin cap.
Q: I would like to know about the holder size. When placing it into a glove box, what size pass box is required?
A: The dimensions of the DCT holder and the holder base are as follows. Please select an appropriately sized pass box based on this information.
-
Holder only: total length 408 mm
(same length even when the tip is retracted) -
Base only: total length 350 mm
-
Holder on the base:
• With tip extended: 510 mm
• With tip retracted: 525 mm
